HM customs & revenue will no longer accept a C3 customs Form for personal effects

As of the 1st of April 2017, HM customs & revenue will no longer accept a HMC&R C3 customs Form as standard process for the clearance of personal effects for persons transferring residency to the UK from outside the EU.

An application will now need to be made prior to sailing using the below link to obtain a unique declaration number, which will need to be listed on the bill of lading at the time of sailing.

The new regulation covering the SOLAS convention for the Safety of Life at Sea will come into force from July 1st 2016.

In accordance with the new regulations, the responsibility for obtaining and documenting the VGM of a packed container lies with the shipper shown on the master ocean B/L. As we are shown as the shipper on the master ocean B/L on groupage containers, we will now be responsible to provide a VGM (Verified Gross Mass) certificate to the ocean carrier in order to meet the SOLAS and port regulations.
