Planned UK Port Strike – Felixstowe

As you are no doubt aware a port strike at FELIXSTOWE port is planned to commence as follows:-

“Eight(8) days of strike action at the port will run from Sunday 21 August ending on Monday 29 August”

We should note that this is planned and is not yet confirmed although recent negotiations did not meet with a satisfactory solution. Any contingency planning by carriers has not yet been disclosed and this will affect all operations at Felixstowe and other UK ports may also be affected.

We will do everything we can to mitigate delays and minimise any additional costs levied, however if this planned action proceeds all ports will be under pressure from any port rotation changes by carriers during this period.

Thank you for your patience,

Globelink Fallow Limited

Merry Christmas!

Globelink Fallow would like to thank you all for your continued support through what can only be described as one of, if not THE most testing year our generation has witnessed.

Due to these very trying times our sales team will not be able to come around spreading our usual Globelink Fallow festive cheer to thank you all, in person, for your support. So this year we have donated an abundance of toys to the local Salvation Army Toy appeal, which I am sure you will all be in favour of.

No child should go without a toy for Christmas and we know, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, more families than ever are leaning on such charities to try and put a smile on their child’s face.

We wish you and all your families the Happiest of Christmases and look forward to ‘seeing’ you all sometime in the New Year!

South Africa Delays Due to Illegal Protesting

The below has been reported to us by our agent in South Africa, Thrutainers:

Due to illegal protesting that is occurring throughout the country against the trucks and drivers, a few deliveries have been delayed.
Cargo movement between Durban and Johannesburg, local deliveries and containers in and out of the Terminals around the country are all being affected.

In many cases there has been violence, so we are monitoring the situation closely.
